QuietFive is built around one simple idea: your reading habit is yours. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and how your data is handled.
What we collect
QuietFive does not collect personal information. Specifically:
- No account or sign-up is required.
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information.
- We do not use advertising networks or sell data to third parties.
- We do not use analytics SDKs that track individual users.
Data stored on your device
All reading progress, streak data, notification preferences, and plan settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and the file system).
iCloud sync (optional)
If you enable iCloud sync, your reading progress and settings are synced across your own Apple devices via Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never see or have access to this data.
Audio downloads
Audio narration files are downloaded from our servers and stored locally on your device. Download requests include standard server log data (IP address, timestamp) that is not linked to any personal identity and is retained for no more than 30 days.
In-app purchases
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Purchase records are managed by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Microphone
QuietFive requests the microphone permission because the underlying audio framework requires it on iOS. The app does not record audio. Your microphone is never accessed.
Children's privacy
QuietFive does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data at all, the app is suitable for users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
